Fabulant - a creative meeting space

I wanted to gather my different projects in one site - and hopefully also create a community of likeminded enthusiasts of storytelling and creativity in all its shapes and forms.

biography

My name is Ingvill, I am 54 years old, from Finnsnes in Northern Norway. I have three beautiful adult sons, Odin (26), Mikkel & Emil (23).

I spent my childhood in Finnsnes where i grew up with my single mother and three siblings. Most of my adult life I have studied and worked in several countries; France, England, Ecuador and Haiti. I have a masters degree in Human Rights from the University of London.

I am very fond of languages, art, storytelling and creative writing. As a "northerner" I grew up in a culture where stories were told to either make you laugh, or scare the living daylight out of you! I loved listening to the fishermen exaggerating their catch of the day, and still to this day wonder what would happen if I dare to whistle to the Northern Lights dancing on the skyline.

Healing Through Words.

Using creative writing and journaling as a way out of difficult times.

I was 48 years old when I filed for divorce after 23 years of marriage. It was not an impulsive act, I had been thinking about leaving for several years, when I finally decided that it was time to take that leap.

I would write down my thoughts and emotions throughout these years, and I was grateful for having found journaling as a powerful tool to process my emotions.

I hope to share some of the tools I used in my own healing journey with you, through my stories in my blog and my Creative Retreats in Senja.

Hey Muse, Where Art Though?

We are all inherently creative beings, though many of us may not recognize it.

Whether it's the way we solve problems, express emotions, or imagine possibilities, creativity is woven into the fabric of our daily lives.

However, tapping into this creativity often requires courage, especially when self-doubt tells us we don’t have it. It takes bravery to silence the inner critic, to explore the unknown parts of ourselves, and to give ourselves permission to create without fear of judgment or failure.

Searching for your creativity is an act of self-discovery, a way of honoring the parts of you that may have been hidden for too long.

I hope you will join me on this journey!

Not for amateurs - a blog about life's many surprises

I will do my best try to make you laugh (with me, not at me). I might add a little bit of reflection into the mix, as I write my way through the ups and downs of midlife as a happy divorcee. I will take you with me on my travels and excursions around the world, as I search to uncover those good stories that are waiting to be told.
